International Airport Hermosillo General Ignacio Pesqueira García (IATA: HMO, la OACI: MMHO), is located in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. The airport is named after Ignacio Pesqueira, a general who helped the Mexican army to resist the French invasion during the nineteenth century. The airport receives several domestic flights and flights to U.S. cities Los Angeles and Phoenix. The airport is an important point for Aeroméxico Connect, who manages about 50 commercial flights daily to destinations within the U.S. and Mexico..

The airport is also a military base, known as BAM-18, flying from the Mexican Air Force.

The installation consists of a main runway (5/23), an alternate track is currently closed (11/29), taxiways, hangars, and a commercial terminal has capacity for 9 or more aircraft.

The airport usually serves as the main alternate airport for flights aimed at the Tijuana International Airport, therefore, is not uncommon to see airplanes headed to Tijuana, Hermosillo being diverted due to bad weather in Tijuana or other technical problems. The airport runways and taxiways were expanded recently to receive larger aircraft that can reach Hermosillo. Aeromexico has had to divert its Boeing 777 to Hermosillo on several occasions.

Handled 1,200,900 passengers in 2011, an increase of 5.5% compared to 2010 ".
