FAQ

1.How much time before my flight should I arrive at the airport?

• For international flights, arrive 3 hours prior to your flight.
• For domestic flights, arrive 2 hours prior to your flight.

2.How many kilograms/pounds can I bring without incurring additional charges?

The baggage weight that you can bring really depends on the airline you will be flying. You must directly contact them, or your travel agency, to be informed of any baggage limits; these depend on departure city, destination and travel season.

Note. Some airlines are now weighing carry on baggage as well.

7.Where and how must I claim lost baggage?

For any issue with checked baggage (destruction, damage, delays or loss) you must immediately visit the airline’s ticket counter (to comply with P.I.R. – Baggage Irregularity) to describe what happened and for processing by the airline.
Regardless of the P.I.R. regulations, before leaving the airport, the passenger has the following time limits for filing a claim:

• In case of damaged baggage, the passenger must file a claim with the airline immediately or within 7 days of the damage (this varies by airline) for checked baggage.

8.How many bags can I bring on the plane?

Normally, airlines allow approximately up to 30 kilograms (66 pounds??) for first class and preferred passengers and approximately 20 kilograms (44 pounds??) for regular passengers. For flights between Mexico and the United States or Canada, baggage is measured by pieces, so that the number of bags is limited by volume. In any case, and if the airplane conditions allow, additional baggage is permitted by paying an excess baggage fee.

Aside from checked baggage, passengers may bring carry on baggage on the plane or one or two light objects, such as: umbrellas, handbags, camera case, portable computer, shopping bag, etc.

For more information on weight limits, packages and dimensions, please check with your airline carrier.

9.What do I need to travel with an animal?

It depends, if you are travelling with a sight dog, it may accompany the passenger on the plane and will need identification and a permit. For regular dogs, and if the passenger is flying domestically, the animal may travel in cargo, in a special cage, so that it may travel in a pressurized cabin. Some airlines do not allow animals, and that will depend on the airline’s policies.

10.What documentation must I show to travel on a domestic or international flight?

It depends on the airline. Some airlines require only official identification for a domestic flight. Official identification is an official government-issued identification such as a driver’s license, professional identification or passport. Some airlines, however, only accept an official government-issued identification, and a passport, and this will depend on that airline’s policies. We recommend that you contact the airline you will be flying for additional information.

If it is an international flight, you must carry a Passport. To travel to the U.S., you will require a Visa. If you are travelling to Africa, you must have received the shots required by the country you will be travelling to. If you are travelling to South America, the requirements will vary depending on the airline and the country you will be flying to. We recommend that you contact the airline you will be flying for additional information.

11.What documents do I require to travel with a child or infant?

Depending on the airline and the travel destination, and whether the child is your son/ daughter or family member, you are not required identification for a domestic flight. If you are travelling internationally, some airlines require a signed note from the mother or father of the child, if both parents will not be travelling together. In the case of an infant, the airline will require a birth certificate and a passport, again this depends on that airline policy.

We recommend that you contact the airline you will be flying for additional information.
