Morelia, Michoacán. April 2010


Mr. José Manuel López Macouzet, Regional Director of the Morelia International Airport, announced a Ps. $47 million investment in airport infrastructure, based on the Advisory Committee’s framework established on Thursday, March 25, 2010.

 

Among the most significant work will be the installation of x-ray baggage machines, of which Ps. $26 million will be allocated towards labor and equipment.
This is expected to be operational in September, 2010.


The remaining investments will be for the installation of runway security markers in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization. (OACI).
Further infrastructure construction to treat storm water and sewage, as well as achieving ISO 9001-2001 certification is expected in 2010.

 

The Morelia International Airport plans to invest 171 million pesos.
For the 2010-2014 periods, the Morelia International Airport will extend the international baggage claim area, remodel the interior of the terminal building, grade the taxiways, and build a two-way runway.
